Types & Applications

There are a number of types of fuel cells which are appropriate for specific uses. The following descriptions relate to those types in which Technical Fibre Products (TFP) initially aims to take a leading position as a component supplier. Proton Exchange Membranes (PEM) fuel cells are able to respond rapidly to changing demands for power. PEMs are ideally suited for automobiles and small, portable and personal stand-alone applications. Phosphoric Acid fuel cells are capable of higher power output than PEMs and are ideal for stationary applications as in large buildings such as offices, schools, hospitals and hotels. Solid Oxide fuel cells will produce even greater outputs and would be suitable for large-scale generating stations.
