There are a number of Safety 'Initiatives' to facilitate improvements in Health and Safety at James Cropper PLC.

  • Safety Strategy Plan - 13 identified Health and Safety Improvement Programmes, managed by the Company's Safety Strategy Team, who are responsible for monitoring and reporting progression.

    The ultimate goal of the Safety Strategy Plan is to achieve Zero Injuries.

    Within the Safety Strategy Plan the Health and Safety Improvement Programmes cover items such as;

  • Improve Safety Leadership
    • DuPont type training for Team Leaders
    • Deploy Leadership principles
    • Specific management support and development programmes
  • Make sure people know what's expected of them and are held accountable
    • Directors, Team Leaders, Individuals, Group Services, Line Management
  • Improve systems and Administration.
    • Additional Group Safety Team resource
    • Working towards achieving OHSAS 18001
    • Purchase of Achiever Plus software
  • Risk Assessment - Improve the way we do risk assessments
    • Prioritise - fewer, but better
    • Follow through on improvement actions and develop Safe Systems of Work as appropriate.

    • Establish Pristine Condition Manual Handling assessments and Safe Systems of Work, integrate with JC PLC Risk Assessment's and Safe Systems of Work
    • Establish the Pristine Condition Manual Handling package of training, maintenance, investigation and corrective action
