NEW
IMAGE FOR JAMES CROPPER SPECIALITY PAPERS

During
the current financial year James Cropper Speciality Papers Ltd has
operated as an independent subsidiary of James Cropper plc with
greater business autonomy. This change also created the opportunity
for the business to establish and develop its own separate trading
identity.
The
first and most noticeable change for 2004 is a fresh design of the
company logo for James Cropper Speciality Papers.
The
distinctive bird device, originally inspired by the Cropper family
coat-of-arms, has been given a sleek new look to more accurately
reflect the key elements of the business.
The
new design effectively unites the progressive nature of our industry
with the rich traditions of our papermaking heritage.
Strong
use of colour represents our unique colour capability.
The
company name, James Cropper Speciality Papers, reinforces both the
creative and custom focus of our business.

COLOURS FOR KENDAL COVER
Kendal Cover is one of our flagship brands. The rich, natural colours
of the Lakeland landscape have always been a source of inspiration
for colours in the range.
Whilst reflecting colour trends, the new colours for the Kendal
Cover stock range stay constant to the natural theme of the collection.
Yellow
- adds a welcoming energy and optimism to the range, and complements
and contrasts with the rich deep colours in the palette.
Russet - inspired by bronzed copper this beautiful red-brown
creates a natural warmth, and adds style and drama to the new range.
Mauve - a smoky purple which strikes the perfect balance
between the rich reds of the palette and the classic blues.
Diamond - a cool white with a hint of infused violet, clearly
neutral with an atmospheric quality.
The Kendal Cover collection of high quality boards can be used in
a wide range of print and conversion techniques, and is the perfect
choice for covers for reports and brochures or packaging for luxury
products.
Contact our sales team for
samples of the new colours.

2003
FRAGRANCE FOUNDATION AWARDS
The
Fragrance Foundation honoured American and European fragrance stars
of the year at the 31st Annual FiFi Award ceremony held in New York
City on Monday 9 June 2003.
Considered
as a symbol of excellence around the world, the FiFi is the equivalent
of the Oscars for the fragrance industry. The ceremony is attended
by more than 1500 members of the international fragrance community,
and awards are presented by celebrities from fashion, theatre, film
and television.
The
award statue is a sculpture in crystal, created by Pierre Dinand
in1975, featuring two abstract columns embracing a droplet.
The Vera Wang fragrance, by Unilever prestige, was highly acclaimed
at this prestigious event. It was the only Women's fragrance to
receive the FiFi award in more than one category: Women's Fragrance
Introduction of the Year - Nouveau Niche (sold in speciality stores)
and Women's Packaging of the Year.
The
sensual elegance of the scent is reflected in it's packaging, created
by Vera Wang with Atelier Dinand. A pure, white textured paper,
from James Cropper Speciality Papers, is accented with the Vera
Wang logo in rich brown. Whilst the ultimately feminine shade of
lavender creates a seductive veil of colour on the inside of the
cartons.

PACK SIZES FOR KENDAL MANILLA
During
a recent review of the Kendal Manilla stock range, problems with
handling packs of the heaviest board weight were highlighted by
our packing department.
To
combat problems experienced with handling packs that are both heavy
and bulky, the reams of Kendal Manilla which have proved particularly
awkward to handle have been reduced in size. The 485gsm, is now
packed in 100 sheets rather than 125's, and 225gsm which was packed
in 250's is now available in 200's. As well as reducing pack bulk
this brings the individual pack weight well within the HSE guidelines
of a reasonable weight for a man to lift and carry.
This
positive move improves the safe handling of our Kendal Manilla stock
range. For more details about the product range press

THE
WORKS OF GEOFFREY CHAUCER NEWLY IMPRINTED ON 'OXENFORD'
William Morris, most famous as the founder and guiding spirit of
the Arts and Crafts movement, established the Kelmscott Press in
1890. The folio edition of Chaucer's works, printed by Kelmscott
in 1896, fulfilled Morris's vision of what could be achieved through
a combination of modern print techniques and traditional crafts.
A
magnificent Folio Society facsimile edition of William Morris's
masterpiece, limited to 1,000 individually numbered copies, has
been newly published. This new edition is printed in two colours
throughout, on 'Oxenford' cream laid paper, closely matched to the
original for surface, bulk and shade. This archival quality paper
was commissioned from James Cropper, and printed at the Cambridge
University Press. This beautiful book is hand-bound in full goatskin
leather, blocked in gold, and presented in a buckram bound solander
box.
The
Kelmscott Chaucer is said to be one of the finest and most beautiful
books ever printed. The medieval type style, named Chaucer, was
designed by William Morris along with lavish ornamental borders
and decorative panels. The stunning wood-cut illustrations of Edward
Burne-Jones, 87 in total, provide an exquisite setting for the complete
works of Geoffrey Chaucer.
